when I saw it was the small envelope
I knew it was CUI-ded
not sad not surprised
more or less expected
I'm a little disappointed
my 26th birthday just went by quietly
probably cos I was in hk
away from all my friends

I guess it's true
as a person gets older
birthdays become less significant
people forget about your birthday just like you forget theirs
seems like people around me are all having fun
looking forward to the next phase in their lives

staying at home can be damn boring
when you've got so much time on your hands
you start to think a lot

emo things
got this bad feeling but can't pin point what it is

I'm back from my hk trip
refreshed
invigorated
learned many things
saw many things
many emotions to share
the reports on the sichuan earthquake were non-stop showing on hk tv
I felt sad as I watched the reports on tv
people dying by the hundreds
entire villages wiped out in an instant
people having to amputate their limbs in order to survive or escape
tears flowed down my cheeks
I feel thankful
